"The Hospice is committed to constantly improving the quality of its services to patients and their relatives through an on-going programme of staff and volunteer training. The Hospice also aims to educate and train health professionals working in other settings in the principles and practices of palliative care."

Education and training are available for in-house staff and volunteers, community, hospital health and social care workers.

The programme is aimed at healthcare professionals and includes a wide range of clinical sessions including end of life care, not only for people with cancer, but also with other long-term chronic conditions such as cardiac, renal and neurological disease.  Other courses on offer include human resources related training and statutory training in first aid and manual handling.

Please note alongside our established courses we may be able to provide tailor made courses to meet your requirements. We have an ongoing arrangement with Brighton and Sussex universities offering placement opportunities to nursing and medical students. There may be opportunities for exchange programmes and placements for other students negotiable on an individual basis.
