The Midnight Walk 2009 is on Friday 19th June, entry is £10 and we ask you to raise funds for the hospice. Last year 1200 valiant ladies walked 13 miles and raised £150,000 – help us beat that target in 2009.

Medical Care


The Martlets used to care mainly for terminally ill cancer patients. Over the years the care that the Hospice provides has been made available to a far wider range of people, including those suffering from a number of other debilitating and life threatening conditions.

In-Patient Care


The In Patient Unit at the Martlets is a warm, light, friendly and airy place, with 18 beds providing the highest possible level of clinical care.

It's a common misconception that you only come to a hospice for end of life care, actually about 50% of Martlets patients come in for treatment and then return home.

Community and Outpatients Care

Whether patients use our Community Services or the Outpatients service they will be supported by an expert clinical team who work with both the patient and their families to ensure that in whatever time the patient has left their quality of life is maintained.
